PDS Seminar: Placement and Restoration of Dental Implants by Dr. Hardev Singh

April 24 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Placement and Restoration of Dental Implants

Dental implants are being placed by general practitioners and specialists on a regular basis, dental implants can be rewarding and frustrating at some times. A key factor in placement of implants is identifying any factors that could cause failure and to let the patient know the possibilities of this during the consultation phase. It is important for practitioners who place implants to develop appropriate techniques and skills and customize the strategies developed. Different systemic and local factors need to be considered for optimal success in implant placement and understanding of the basic protocols is critical in implant placement. It is also imperative that implant placement follows a restorative driven plan, and the prosthetic design always needs to be kept in mind. A successful implant placement needs to follow as series of checklists that can be tailor made by the clinician. When referring to the specialist it is ideal to communicate to the specialist the expectations of the case being referred out.
